Regional monitoring network with 300 operating units
The accumulated expertise and high-quality equipment let R-NOХ realize one of the world’s largest air quality monitoring projects. The project started in one of the regions in Eastern Europe in 2020.
300 AirNode analyzers have been successfully operating in the region in 2023.
When project development was started, local authorities didn’t have their own regional air quality monitoring system.
Push-factors for authorities to implement changes:
- constantly growing number of industrial enterprises,
- population growth and increased level of requirements for environmental quality.
Regional authorities implemented integrated approach. It included reference air monitoring solutions and mobile laboratories. The network was supplemented with premium air quality monitoring analyzers AirNode. This approach allowed authorities to receive sufficient and reliable data for further decision making.
Measured substances and parameters:
NO₂, SO₂, NH₃, CO, H₂S
meteorological parameters: temperature, air humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind strength and direction
Implementation of the monitoring network helped authorities to get accurate real-time data on air quality. This data allowed them to understand problem areas and pollution sources in the region, and also to identify several enterprises exceeding regulatory thresholds. Currently, authorities and enterprises are working on improvements.
